ABU DHABI, 29th June, 2022 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi University (ADU) celebrated the graduation of 1,435 students during its 16th graduation ceremony since its opening in 2003. The graduation included 858 undergraduates and 577 postgraduates.

A sign of the academic excellence of this year’s cohort, 749 students received special recognition and graduated with distinction. The ceremony also saw the graduation of the first cohort of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students with a concentration in “Entrepreneurship and Innovation”. ADU has graduated over 24,000 students to date, many of whom have played leading roles in all sectors and industries, both locally and globally.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Prof. Waqar Ahmad, ADU Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Glas-Hochstettler, ADU Provost, Dr. Hamad Odhabi, ADU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Philip Hamill, ADU Associate Vice Provost for Academic Research and Development, Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU, and ADU College Deans, in addition to faculty members, administrative staff and parents of graduates.

Dr. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, President and Founder of ADU, affirmed that ADU has provided its graduates with an innovative educational environment that further enhances creativity in accordance with scientific and practical best practices and the highest standards. . “These efforts are in line with the university’s strategy which focuses on nurturing competent and successful national cadres capable of meeting the needs of the national development agenda and the UAE 2071 centenary,” he added. .

In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Prof. Waqar Ahmad said: “We pride ourselves on nurturing bright, confident, capable and ambitious young students who are ready to leave their mark with the skills and values ​​that come with them. transform our world for the better. . The ADU Class of 2022 Major said, “This graduation is the start of an exciting new chapter. We will strive to place innovation and creativity at the center of our daily lives so that we can shape a bright and promising future that will help deliver our wise leadership ambitions for the next 50.”

During the graduation ceremony, a short film was screened highlighting the development of ADU’s academic journey. At the end of the ceremony, the graduates received their graduation certificate.
