Hollard partners with the University of Cape Coast to prepare students for post-graduate success.

Along with its subsidiaries Hollard Insurance and Hollard Life Assurance, Hollard Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The MOU will enable post-academic success for UCC students in its Hollard X Academia program. Hollard also unveiled a sponsored space within UCC’s new think tank and innovation hub, dubbed Hollard Mentorship Space, to market the partnership agreement.

The global Hollard X Academia initiative will enable a brighter future for students through; Hollard’s Streetwise Finance, mentoring, engagement and resource sharing programs aimed at giving back to society. The partnership will last for three (3) years, after which it will be reassessed for its impact and continuation.

In a brief on-campus ceremony, Hollard Insurance chief executive Daniel Boi Addo said the partnership was part of the group’s corporate social investment effort.

“We are delighted to enter into this relationship with the aptly named University of Competitive Choice. UCC is the third public university added to our partner schools under our Hollard x Academia initiative. We look forward to the impact that working with the school will have for its students.”

“As an entrepreneurial-minded company, at Hollard, we believe in empowering our community to create a better future. To this end, Hollard X Academia offers five advanced modules, including the Hollard Prize, the Hollard Scholar program, Hollard Streetwise Finance Engagement, Hollard Corporate Experience, and annual thought leadership events. Through this partnership, we are confident that UCC students will be well-equipped for the future of work,” a- he added.

Discussing the creation of the Hollard Mentoring Space, Daniel said the nation’s favorite insurance group was proud to begin the partnership with UCC supporting innovation.

He said: “We are kicking off our partnership by supporting UCC to foster innovation and design thinking among students. Together with the School of Entrepreneurship and University Management, we have been amazed at their efforts to make education functional and future-ready. Therefore, we needed to sponsor a space where students and their mentors could reflect and apply innovative thinking. The exterior of the Hollard Mentoring Space is a testament to our promise to support the exceptional and sustainable growth of UCC.

The Hollard Mentoring Space was officially unveiled in the presence of Sir Sam Jonah, Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and Chairman of the Board of Hollard Ghana and its affiliates.

The school is complementary to Hollard’s support. University of Cape Coast Vice-Chancellor Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong at the signing ceremony said:

“We are thrilled to be part of this partnership. We believe this MOU is not just a one-time project. We know our students will benefit from the initiative starting with the Hollard Mentoring Space in our new center for design thinking and innovation. We are confident that through the Hollard x Academia initiative, our students will receive the right business guidance to become effective business and entrepreneurship leaders at the coming.”
