David Krebsbach has been appointed permanent vice chancellor for administrative affairs and chief financial officer of the North Dakota University System.
Krebsbach was appointed to the position on an interim basis in August and will formally take up his post on October 16, according to a statement from NDUS. He has been working for the State University System since 2016. In his current role, he is responsible for all budgetary and fiscal matters of the System Office, and works closely with the 11 NDUS institutions on accounting, financial management and formulation of the budget.
Krebsbach also helped prepare tax research, reports and testimony during legislative sessions. The position meets the need for supervision at the executive level of financial administration and other financial functions at the system level.
NDUS Chancellor Mark Hagerott said Krebsbach continues to be an exemplary fit for the organization.
âDavid has proven leadership skills and extensive experience in administrative operations, as well as knowledge of the higher education funding formula,â Hagerott said. âHe comes to this position familiar with the legislative process and a working philosophy that will continue to be an asset to NDUS. He and the administrative affairs team have allowed us to maintain a balanced budget throughout the system. His professional approach has helped us navigate a budget plan throughout our COVID response, and he continues to align our budget and strategic processes, while maintaining a high priority focus on our students and campuses. “
Prior to joining NDUS, Krebsbach was CFO for Job Service of North Dakota for eight years. He also has experience as a Controller and Senior Accountant. He obtained degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from UND and is a Certified Public Accountant.
