Rebecca “Becky” McAnelleyAssistant Dean of Student Services and Registrar at Lamar Orange State College, received the Regents’ Staff Excellence Award from the Texas State University System Foundation. Winners were announced for the Regents’ 2022 Professor, Teacher, Staff Excellence and Academic Student Awards at a recent meeting of the Board of Regents in Austin.
The award recognizes staff who excel in six areas: commitment to the college and its mission; professional competence; collegiality; length of service; Community Involvement and Outstanding Achievement.
McAnelley has been with Lamar-Orange for over 35 years. She started as a student assistant and has since held positions such as a recruiter; deputy clerk; Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Registrar; and now, Assistant Dean of Student Services.
“This Regents Staff Excellence Award is a great honour,” said LSCO President Dr. Tom Johnson. “An employee is selected from across the Texas State University system to be honored with this career milestone achievement. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Becky receive this award and couldn’t agree more on the fact that she deserves this recognition.
Winners of the Regents’ Professor, Student Scholar and Staff Excellence Award will be formally recognized at the November 2022 Board of Regents meeting in San Marcos.
Lamar State College Orange is part of the Texas State University System. The system, founded in 1911, is the first university system in Texas.
