Offaly Student named Student Ambassador at St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth

Following a university-wide recruitment process, Jessica Lennon, Edenderry, Co. Offaly, has been appointed as a Student Ambassador at St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth.

Jessica is an alumnus of Oaklands Community College, Edenderry.

Following a successful pilot program last year, Ambassadors are a vital link for incoming students, assisting with orientation activities, arranging campus tours, and offering advice and recommendations on how best to transition from second tier to college life. Student Ambassadors will also attend University events throughout the year conveying their first-hand experiences of life at St Patrick’s.

On being nominated, Jessica said: ”As a student away from home, I wanted to be an ambassador so I could be part of the great support network that exists here at St Patrick’s. There is also a wide range of clubs and societies to join.

”I was able to organize events at both St Patrick’s Pontifical University and Maynooth University, it was invaluable to meet people on both campuses. Not only do you get the chance to get a great education at St Patrick’s, but you can also become an engaged student who gives you so many new experiences,’ she added.

St Patrick’s Pontifical University is located in Maynooth. Maynooth is unique in that it is Ireland’s only university town. The city and the campus are extensions of each other. Students enjoy the benefits of having all the amenities they need close at hand without the hustle and bustle of a big city, while being very accessible to Dublin which is only 30 minutes away and served by excellent rail and road connections.
