SPOKANE – The University District Development Association has appointed Juliet Sinisterra as executive director, the organization announced last week.

Sinisterra has served as Interim University District CEO since July, succeeding Lars Gilberts who joined Numerica Credit Union in June.

“Juliet brings considerable talent and professional connections to the University District,” said Lindsey Myhre, chair of the board of directors for the University District Development Association, in a statement. “His experience in various sectors is a huge asset and will help us build the infrastructure and programming that enables smart urban growth, shared community well-being, and commercial and academic dynamism in the district. “

Sinisterra has over 25 years of experience in urban design, town planning, project management, community engagement and sustainable community development.

Prior to joining the University District Development Association, Sinisterra was Economic Development Manager for the Downtown Spokane Partnership and led the creation of the Riverfront Park Master Plan.

She was also a construction platform product manager for former California-based tech construction company Katerra.

Sinisterra has also supported various community development initiatives including a cultural corridor in downtown Spokane, the integration of public art into the City Line of Spokane Transit Authority and a strategic action plan for Spokane County Food Security. Coalition.
