State University System of Florida Releases New Tool

The Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the State University System of Florida, has released a new online tool to help students choose their majors. Developed under the direction of the Florida Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis, the website provides important information for students and their families, including:

  • Earnings over time – what is the earning potential for each academic program at 1, 5 and 10 years after graduation?
  • Compare earnings – what are some examples of low, median, and high earnings across multiple programs?
  • Beyond the bachelor’s degree – what is the additional earning potential if I pursue my studies beyond the bachelor’s degree?
  • Remuneration by major group – what are the expected salary ranges for the different major groups? Can I compare simultaneously and how do they compare?
  • Typical loan amounts – what proportion of students in the state university system graduate with student loan debt? And what is the average loan amount of a specific academic program?
  • Loans over time – what are the projected monthly student loan debt payments as a proportion of potential monthly income over a ten-year period?

Students and families can access the tool through UF Admissions or the MyFloridaFuture website. The Board of Governors press release is available at
