The search for a new president-chancellor of the University of the South system begins on November 10


Southern University’s search committee for a new president-chancellor will begin to “actively recruit the best people we can find” next month, said a representative from the company that works with universities on the search for leadership positions. , told the Southern University Board of System Supervisors. The committee will then virtually interview the semi-finalists for the position in early January and choose at least three finalists. Then the board “will determine how (they) go forward with the interviews with the finalists,” said Rod McDavis, Senior Director at AGB Search.

Belton held this position for seven years, and before that he was Chancellor of Southern University Shreveport for 14 years. He has also worked in the faculty and administration of Southern for over 34 years.
