The Business Partnership Program is a cornerstone within the College of Business. The College partners with many companies, ranging from companies in the Reno area to international companies, to help engage and educate students on best business practices. Partner companies often recruit graduates from the College of Business, which is a testament to the quality of education and hands-on experience that students receive within the College.

“Whittier Trust has a long history of supporting the College of Business,” said Greg Mosier, Dean of the College of Business. “We are delighted to take our partnership to the next level with their membership in the Corporate Partner Program. With their support and notoriety in the wealth management industry, they provide incredible validation and prestige to all of our academic programs. “

Whittier Trust recruited many students from the College of Business and based on the quality of the applicants decided to increase their level of engagement with the College.

“For Whittier, this provides an opportunity to recruit the best and brightest business students we have and to contribute to their success with internship programs and program advice,” said Jim McClenahan, director of Career and Corporate Outreach within the College of Business. “For the College, the partnership provides students and alumni with incredible opportunities to enter the investment and wealth management industry with an incredible company.”

Partner companies provide critical feedback on the readiness of the students they work with. In addition, they have the opportunity to bring real-world experience and perspectives to students through lectures, assistance in career development workshops, and collaboration on classroom projects. They also help provide important networking opportunities.
