Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University opens Taicang campus


XJTLU officially opens the doors of its Taicang campus, the new headquarters of XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang)

SUZHOU, China, September 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — As the new academic year approaches, Xi’an Jiaotong-University of Liverpool unveils its award-winning Taicang campus to students, staff and the public on September 5. XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), established in 2019, will move to the new campus.

The campus was made possible with assistance and investments from the Taicang local government and will eventually accommodate up to 10,000 students and 1,200 staff.

It was designed with entrepreneurship, industry, interdisciplinarity and community in mind. The main building has a circular structure connecting its schools in the form of a magnet, linking them physically and symbolically.

ECOVACS, a robot vacuum company, is one of the College’s partners. Liang ZhaoDean of the Ecology of Innovation Research Institute at ECOVACS, believes that industry-supported labs “will provide fertile ground for developing cutting-edge scientific research projects and innovation technologies.”
